Lest we forget

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing,

fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

John McCrae

WW1. 9.7 million military casualties

WW2. 25 million military casualties

Remembering the fallen soldiers. They died, so we could live in peace.

We are off to the mountains this weekend.. be back on Wednesday. Hope you all will have a jolly good weekend.

  1. Hi Sarah. Just want you to know that I spent forever clicking on “Older Posts” so that I could get to the start of your blog. My intention is to read from the beginning and (finally) get caught up to present. I’m swept up… like on a journey with you, and I really appreciate your sharing this with me. Hope you’ve had a great long weekend!

  2. Hi Sarah:
From ” My Pleasure my treasure” I landed here, but ended up reading almost all that you had written. It was easy identify with you, but I should say no other blog touched me as yours…at least you have this place to go back to past..which many of us do not have…

    take care..

    Live life to brim..

    Goodnight….all the way from Mysore..:)
