A kid I know is going to North Africa to do missionary work next month. The question I wanted to ask why Africa? Why not here in Canada? Why do people see the need of spreading the gospel in far away land and conveniently avoid their home turf?
In England, my university hostel was a former church, built in the 18 th century. The church was sold to the university because there were not enough members/believers!!! Yet most of the people I knew from the university church were planning to go to Pakistan or Africa. To spread the gospel.
It is the same here in Canada.. most people don’t even go to church. Yet people want to go to far away land and convert others to their religion.
Why do we have to convert people and their religious beliefs? What would happen if a person is Hindu??( it is the oldest religion in the world !!). Why do they have to be christian or muslim to be eligible for a visa to heaven? Why can’t religion be a personal business?
Why can’t people mind their own business?

Every other sunday I have someone ringing the door bell & saying “Jesus Christ is calling u”. Even in supermarkets, a couple of times, I’ve had people chasing me around & giving out pamphlets. I can’t even shop peacefully. I feel like asking them “Y don’t u just let me pray to the God tat I’m praying now? Y do u want me to change the way I pray? Which means, u’re trying to change my whole way of living!!! Who the hell r u to change my way of living, anyway???” Grrrr
It is absurd when people think their religion is better/superior/smarter etc than other’s and then try to convert others from their religion.. I am totally against religious conversion. No religion is superior. You have the right to believe in what you want.it is your choice.
yeah…i think they shud concentrate in canada, US and UK, where priests are requesting everyone to attend churches and get paid!
Religion shd not be forced but willingly accepts by the recipient of His grace.
I do not know what to say about those who knock on doors or waiting at the supermarket. Our church has never practice that sort of thing. We just casually invite our friends if there is an evangelistic meeting and pray and hope that they would come to hear the good tidings.
Jesus has instructed us to spread His message throughout the world, the Christians today are only obeying His instructions. We’re only His messengers, once we let those who need to know about His salvation, we would let the rest of the work to be taken care of by Jesus Himself. For it is written, it is not you who chosed Him but rather He who chosed you. Blessed are they that He has chosen.
