At work, this dude has been hitting on me for a while now..
He is in a position that can create a lot of unnecessary hassle for me, so I tolerated his innuendos..

Yesterday he asked me how many children I have? ( I am fiercely protective of my children and don’t think people I work with need to know about my family)
I said three.
Boys or girls? He asked.
One boy and two girls I replied.
He then asked me
“are the girls as prettier as their mother?”
What the @#^$ was he expecting me to say?

  1. wow! He needs to be fired! Don't know about Aus but here in States it is strictly frowned upon and in most Cos people attend a compulsory course on sexual harassment every 2 years. I suggest you start documenting it somewhere (when / what etc) and get in touch with HR.

  2. Of course, do everything to discourage. Keep a very professional demeanor (not even a smile) and only business chat. Stall before answering any personal questions and keep it vague. You answer should say that the vague answer is the best anyone can get out of you.

If he asks any more personal questions about the kids, give vague and disconnected answer. Ok if he thinks that you are a bit spaced out or weird.

Documenting is a must as Goutham suggested.

Time to learn some martial arts!!

  3. Gautham, Geeth and MS: Men have been hitting on me..for ages..
This guy is an specialist surgeon.. well educated..well respected..
I wasn't worried about sexual harassment..
The fact is I not only have to protect myself from vultures like him..but now I have to think of my daughters..that bothered me..the fact that even at my work, I have to worry about my daughters, and somehow they have to pay because their mother is beautiful..am I making any sense here?
