Faith is a tricky term, which eventually leads to religion which leads right back to faith. Now this is where I am stuck. When I was a med student zeons ago, I remember my first visit to the operation theator..while the surgeon opened up the abdomen of the patient, I could see this intricate arterial networks tht even the most intelligent person could never design.(hey even now no one can design a human brain and put it in something as small as a skull eh??)Tht kind of convinced me tht there must be something more intelligent than human form to have designed or produced us humans. Silly argument, probably.. But my problem arises from the fact tht I hv no name for tht super intelligent form.
I have been raised in an extremely religious family…Now the problem is my family religion says you should believe in our god to go to heaven.. Then wht will happen to those who don’t believe in our religion? Where would they go?
Then there is this problem, where history teaches us tht Hinduism is the oldest religion.. So who created the rest of the religions tht followed ?
My problem is how do i raise my kids? Wht exactly do i tell them? Raise them the way i was raised, though I no longer subscribe to tht belief?
Why is life so complicated? Would it be ok..if i teach them to be just human and do the right always without worrying about sin and hell? Would I be able to do it?
Hello, I was reading your agonizing story. Let me intro. myself, I am from Kottayam. The places of Kottayam mentioned in your story really reminds me about my school days.
I did my schooling in M.T. Seminary H.S. from 5th to 10th (1978 to 1984). So Railway Station, Collectrate, Bus Stand etc….my memory goes back to 20 yrs back!
I feel that still you are in search of True God who can love you more than your Father, A God who cares, forgives, protect, giving better, peacful life…..
My suggestion is…the best starting point is, try to answer the questions…For what you are here on earth? What is the purpose of life?

As for religion.. No I am not looking for a true god.. I am agnostic.. but that doesn’t mean that it is all a dark tunnel.. it means that I am out of the ties that bounds me to believe a certain faith….
Purpose of life: Nobody knows the purpose of life. Some stay for a few hours, some stay for a century…. Some say the purpose is to propagate their faith to all corners, some say, it is to live by their faith.. As for me.. I am not looking for a purpose for my presence.. I am just me,in this ocean of life, I follow where the currents takes me..

Hinduism is not the oldest religion.
Actually it’s Christianity. In fact, when God created Adam and Eve and they bore Cain and Abel, they already knew how to make sacrifices to God, thus religion was born around the 2nd generation of all mankind. Only when Jesus came to the world that this religion that Adam and his family once practiced in worshipping the True God, was t his religion being named as Christianity.
Sorry to disappoint you. Hinduism is infact the oldest religion. There are archeological evidence going back to 3000BCE, about hinduism.
There are articles about worshipping bull(bal) in the bible.
Also, if Adam and Eve where the first people, who did Cain marry, when he was chased from the eden garden? Where there other people?
